SHIRLEE CORNWELL OF GILLETT, PA. OFFERS “A TOUCH OF THE PAST” BY SHOWING US HOW TO CROCHET HER WAFFLE WEAVE AFGHAN.

I have been married for almost forty-six years to a husband that supports and shares my interest in miniatures. Most people think we are joined at the hip. During the years we have raised four children, while I worked as a Bridal Consultant, and we played with our hobby miniature business called A Touch Of The Past.

We are now both retired from work, and we can now play full time. I am the “Jack of all trades, Master of none.” I like to do a lot of different creating dolling, sewing, crocheting, ceramics, and, of course, knitting, which is my favorite.

I learned to knit when I was about five years old. My uncles sister was a nun, and when she came home to visit on the weekends, she would always bring another nun with her (as they had to travel in pairs). Most of them were very creative, and being the only girl, the nuns taught me a lot of different crafts. I decided that almost any pattern that I could knit on a larger scale, I would try to scale down to the size I need for doll houses.

Are you ready for a miniature challenge?
