A Touch of the Past is committed to respecting and protecting the privacy of its online visitors. If you register with A Touch of the Past, you will need to verify your name and email address when you subscribe to our email list via a link in a confirmation email. Your name, address, telephone number and (where applicable) credit card information is transmitted between your browser and our browser and PayPal's Secure Web Server in an encrypted format in accordance with PayPal's standard operating procedures, rules and regulations. This information may be used to contact you about future services on our site.
Information required for the ordering process (name, address, credit card number, etc.) is used for billing purposes and to fill your order. If we have trouble processing your order, this contact information may be used to get in touch with you.
A Touch of the Past and PayPal.com makes use of "cookies," which are small pieces of information that make your shopping experience with us more convenient and personalized. Usage of cookies is in no way linked to any personally identifiable information while on our site. It is these cookies that allow us to maintain your shopping basket and to distinguish the areas of our site that are most popular from those that may need some attention from us. Security
This website takes every precaution to protect our users' information. When users submit sensitive information via the website, their information is protected off-line. Our registration/order form never asks users to enter sensitive information (such as credit card number), that information is encrypted and is protected with the best encryption software in the industry - SSL through PayPal.com in accordance with their standard operating procedures, privacy policies, rules and regulations. While on a secure page, such as PayPal's order form, the lock icon on the bottom of Web browsers such as Netscape Navigator and Microsoft Internet Explorer becomes locked, as opposed to un-locked, or open, when you are just “surfing.” While PayPal uses SSL encryption to protect sensitive information online, we also do everything in our power to protect user-information off-line. All of our users' information, not just the sensitive information mentioned above, is restricted in our offices. Only employees who need the information to perform a specific job (for example, our billing clerk or a customer service representative) are granted access to personally identifiable information. Finally, the servers that we store personally identifiable information on are kept in a secure environment.
Tell-A-Friend
If a user elects to use our referral service for informing a friend about our site, we ask them for the friend's name and email address. A Touch of the Past will automatically send the friend a one-time email inviting them to visit the site. A Touch of the Past stores this information for the sole purpose of sending this one-time email. Your friend may contact A Touch of the Past at remove@atopdoll.com to request the removal of this information from our database.
Special Offers
We send all new members a welcoming email. Members will occasionally receive information on products, services, special deals and/or newsletters. Out of respect for the privacy of our users, we present the option to not receive these types of communications directly in our email. Please see our Opt-out section below.
Site and Service Updates
Occasionally, we will send you site and service announcement updates. Members are not able to unsubscribe from service announcements, which contain important information about our service. We communicate with the user to provide requested services and in regard to issues relating to their account via email or phone.
Choice/Opt-out
Our users are given the opportunity to “opt-out” of having their information used for purposes not directly related to our site at the point where we ask for the information. Users who do not wish to receive promotional materials from A Touch of the Past may also opt-out of receiving these communications by replying to any such materials with "unsubscribe" entered into the subject line of the email.
